Eszter Chen was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and raised in Los Angeles, California. She received her BFA in illustration design with honors from Art Center College of Design Pasadena. Upon graduation, Eszter worked with fashion brands in Los Angeles as a textile designer and a color analyst.
Currently, Eszter is a visual artist and commissioned illustrator based in Taipei, specializing in drawing, painting, digital art, mixed media, surface design, and sculpture. Her art and illustrations draw inspiration from everyday elements such as life experiences, memories, dreams, and stories. Eszter is also fascinated by flowers, plants, creatures of nature, interior and objects that appear in her art and illustrations.
Much of Eszter’s artwork explores the relationships between colors, shapes, and patterns. These relationships convey stories of femininity, motherhood, surrealism, awkwardness, and bringing joyfulness. Her artwork is described as bright, colorful, and playful.
